Plot of land acquired for nature conservation

Resolution of the board: 10th of January 2010

Several members of the association (Franz Josef Kerkhoff, Robin Schöck, Christoph Gut, Klaus Braunert) are sponsoring the conservation of a 460 hectare estate consisting for the most part of primeval forest 40 km south of Santa Rosa de la Roca, Provincia ñuflo de Chávez, departemento Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The estate is called "Laguna Pantanosa". Maribel Añez-Aguirre, having become member of the local community Aguirre holds the property title.

Entrance to estate Laguna PantanosaThe land is to be preserved. It will be opened for nature lovers and its fauna and flora will be protected. Moreover, certain specifications of the INRA (National Institute for Agricultural Reform, Bolivia) will be fulfilled so that the plot of land will not be in danger of being expropriated by government agencies. To undertake these measures, financial means are required.

In agreement with its statute goals, the society will apply for grants to secure the funds. As a return service, it will receive  the user rights possible for a protected zone. The society wants to be the cooperative partner of the owners. The owners promise not to sell the plot of land or to make it accessible for other purposes.
